soma newbury was established february 3rd 2023 as “soma sunglass”. originally conceptualized as a place for people paroozing newbury to be exposed to the wide world of independent sunglaqsses. Turns out, selling sunglasses on newbury street in the middle of the winter isnt all its cracked up to be. Also, we love both sunglasses and glasses, the imminent switch just made sense to us! In its current form, soma newbury is a curation of independent brands (of optical and sunglasses) at various price points, curated with the guidance of its wonderful staff. While there is some overlap between shops, soma newbury also has some treasures you wont find at soma south end and vice versa. The collections are curated to their respective neighborhoods, as well as the respective tastes of the individuals that work there! its a chill environment, and visually different from our other shop. Its a fantastic place to make an appointment for a private fitting and personal styling,, otherwise, please feel free to just drop in and say “hi!”.
